“Texas is no stranger to wildfires with thousands of acres burned every year. The 2022 wildfire year was certainly the most significant year that we have had in the state of Texas since 2011. In 2022, we saw about 12,400 wildfires that burned a little more than 650,000 acres across the state.”

It was the most destructive wildfire in state’s history, a fire that burned over 34,000 acres and killed 4 people in Bastrop County.

31, 2021, a total of 218,351 wildfires burned 11,803,382 acres across the state of Texas. During this 16-year period, 86% of all wildfires ignited within 2-miles of a community

By choosing materials that are fire resistant and compliant, we can significantly increase our chances of protecting our homes. Properly constructed buildings can keep fire at bay and prevent it from spreading.
CLEAR ZONES ACCORDING TO THE PROGRAM "Wildfire Wise”
Programs such as "Wildfire Wise" provide preparation tips and cleaning the areas around our homes. Removing dry branches, bushes and other flammable materials can greatly reduce the risk of a fire spreading.

It is known that fires detected earlier are easier to control. That's why fire detection systems like our SmokeD play a key role. By monitoring areas for smoke and flames, we can respond to threats immediately and alert the appropriate services, such as the fire department.

Wildfires Aware Community
We want to detect fires quickly. We are building a network of points from which monitoring will be carried out around the clock during the fire season using special SmokeD fire detectors. The aim of the project is to quickly inform the fire brigade and residents of endangered areas about an emerging fire in the area. In this way, we want to help protect people, buildings and all nature.
We invite the entire community from the Austin area to join the project!
Ultimately, we would like to protect Austin and the surrounding area, and we chose the area west of Austin as a starting point. In this area there are 3 masts on which fire detectors will be installed.
HOW IT WORKS
The network of points will be based on modern SmokeD detectors
SmokeD is a system whose purpose is to detect a threat and inform the fire brigade and people about it. SmokeD consists of highly sensitive detectors with built-in AI software and, additionally, an integrated mobile application - SmokeD Alerts.
The detectors automatically inform users of the SmokeD Alerts mobile application about the occurrence of a threat. If you use the SmokeD Alerts app, you will know where there is smoke or flames in your area.
Location of masts on which detectors will be installed
Monitoring will be carried out in specific locations. These include the very tall masts of American Towers. The view from them provides detection from a great distance.
The selected network of points is optimal in terms of the high risk present in the area.
